The Bridge Logistics team is excited to put our best “feet” forward to raise funds for blood cancer research at the LLS Light the Night Walk this October in Cincinnati.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.

Bridge Logistics is forming a team that our team members, or anyone interested, can join. You can register (for free) here. You can also start your own team and set your own personal fundraising goals through the registration website.

“Bridge has been doing this event for a long time… It gives us a sense of community and we’re doing something that’s bigger than ourselves. We love it!” says Sarah Anderson, Executive Administrative Assistant at Bridge Logistics. She also serves as the point contact for the Bridge Logistics walk team.

The Light the Night walk takes place on October 6 in Downtown Cincinnati just after dusk – but that’s not all: there will be a pre-event celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. featuring food trucks, music, shirts, and lanterns to hold during the 2-mile walk.

The fun continues into the night with the walk beginning at approximately 7:15 p.m. – 9 p.m. after looping through Downtown Cincinnati and Newport, Kentucky and ends with a bang at the fireworks show on the riverbank.

The LLS Light the Night walk typically boasts between 5-7k attendees and is one of the top 10 events to do in Downtown Cincinnati according to the foundation.

The idea of the walk (besides fundraising for cancer research) is for attendees to hold lanterns to illuminate the pathway and to keep spirits bright in bleak times.

’LLS means a lot to not only me, but also my family. My mom’s brother passed away from Leukemia when he was 14 years old,” says Anderson.

If you plan on attending, you’ll see supporters walking with red lanterns, survivors walking with white lanterns, and those who are walking in memory of someone with gold lanterns.

“My mom walks in remembrance of her brother,” says Anderson. “It’s moving to see so many people out there supporting and walking and doing what they can to help raise funds to find a cure for all blood cancers.”

If you see a Bridge Logistics shirt, say hey! We’re proud to support the LLS and Light the Night and hope to see you walking alongside us, or alongside your own team.
